It is located right across from the small uninhabited islet of Filfla. Every day from sunrise until about 1 pm a unique sight can be observed here. The location of the cave combined with the sunlight lead to the water mirroring showing numerous shades of blue. Several caverns mirror the brilliant phosphorescent colours of the underwater flora; other caverns show a deep dark shade of blue. : Blue Grotto, Christmas, Holiday, Joulu, Malta, historia, loma, nähtävyys, tourist attraction

The cliffs reach a height of around 253 metres – the highest place in Malta. Thus the inhabitants do not earn their living by going fishing, but by assiduously tilling their fields : Christmas, Holiday, Joulu, Malta, historia, loma

The valley, filled with trees, was an ideal place for hunting game and was the only wood in the Maltese islands. De Verdale planted trees, built fountains and planned to make this locality a restful resort. Verdala castle was converted in 1982 into the official Government guest house for visiting Heads of State. New electricity was installed, the stones were re-painted and private facilities improved. It was used as a State Guest house until around 1987. When Paul Xuereb became acting President he adopted Verdala as his official residence. It is now used as the official summer residence of the President of Malta : Christmas, Holiday, Joulu, Malta, historia, loma Misrah Ghar il-Kbir Misrah Ghar il-Kbir (informally known as Clapham Junction) is a prehistoric site in Malta near the Dingli Cliffs. It is best known for its "cart ruts" - a complex network of tracks gouged in the rock. The age and purpose of the tracks are still a mystery of Maltese history. In general, most archeologists presume that the site developed about 2000 BC after new settlers came over from Sicily to start the Bronze Age in Malta. It is reported that the "Clapham Junction" nickname was given by an Englishman, who later reported that it reminded him of the busy railway station Clapham Junction in London. Recent research suggests that these may have been caused by wooden-wheeled carts eroding soft limestone. An analysis was made of the stresses that would have been caused by a cart which would fit the ruts. : Christmas, Holiday, Joulu, Malta, historia, loma Misrah Ghar il-Kbir Misrah Ghar il-Kbir (informally known as Clapham Junction) is a prehistoric site in Malta near the Dingli Cliffs.
