  • The Russian Chapel at the Vršič Pass is a Russian Orthodox memorial chapel located on the Vršič Pass road in northwestern Slovenia. It was built by Russian prisoners of war engaged in forced labor in the area during World War I.   • Ribčev Laz, the church of John the Baptist lies on the shore of Lake Bohinj. It is built on a west-east orientation and is surrounded by an old cemetery wall with two entrances.   • The lake surrounds Bled Island , the only natural island in Slovenia. The island has the Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary, built in the 15th century, where weddings are held regularly. The church has a 52 m (171 ft) tower and there is a stairway with 99 steps leading up to the building.   • Bled castle – according to written sources, the oldest castle in Slovenia, first mentioned in a 1011 donation deed as castellum Veldes.<br />Perched atop a steep cliff rising 130 metres above the glacial Lake Bled is a symbol of Bled and Slovenia. 1952 marked the beginning of extensive renovations of the castle led by architect Tone Bitenc, a disciple of Jože Plečnik. Castle remake took ten years and was completed in 1961.
